Rachel Demuth is the owner of the award winning Demuth’s Vegetarian Restaurant in Bath, now in its 20th year. She has written three cookery books and writes a monthly column on seasonal ingredients for the national magazine Vegetarian Living.


  • £745 per person in a shared room Single room supplement £100.

  • Non-cooking partners are welcome at a cost of £525 sharing a room. Meals included, but not tuition.  We will be happy to organise alternative activities such as golf, cycling trips and wine tasting tours.

What the course price includes:

  • Accommodation in the chateau or in a local guest house – rooms in the chateau are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis

  • Daily cookery sessions with Rachel and another cookery school chef 

  • Wine tasting evening with Master of Wine Juliet Bruce-Jones 

  • Welcome meal on your arrival evening served on the beautiful outside terrace (weather permitting)

  • Breakfast on Day two, three, four and five 

  • On Day two, three and four we will prepare and eat lunch and dinner together 

  • Tea, coffee or non alcoholic beverages and fresh fruit Wine with lunch and dinner 

  • A recipe pack filled with the vegetarian dishes we will cook, chefs tips and information 

The price does not include:

  • Flights: please visit the Chateau Ventenac website for information about cheap flights from the UK

  • Optional extras such as bike hire, golf, sports activities and car hire which we will be happy to help you with. Alcohol after the evening meal (you can buy your own locally or from us)

  • Airport transfers - we can collect you for a fee of 20 euros each way.

  • The balance of your course fee should be paid at least 8 weeks prior to the course. 

  • The 25% deposit is non-refundable. You are advised to take out a travel insurance policy with a cancellation clause which may enable you to reclaim non-refundable monies.
